| Our first ever South Africa Radio Forum is behind us, and the support and response for this year's conference has be overwhelming.
Our forum chairman, Mr Bob Mabena opened the radio forum with his vision on the future of radio. He concluded with this inspiring calling. “Let us be radio disciples – we all have a story to tell about how radio has worked for us.”
Conference participants had Paul Weyland of Paul Weyland Communication Strategies, giving valuable copywriting and sales ideas. They also received invaluable tips and advice from Guy Dobson from Austereo on how to identify, nurture and maintain talent as well as inspiring quickfire session moderated by Nick Grubb that left many with ideas to implement for their station.
These are what some of the attendees have to say about the forum.
“It was great to get all the industry stakeholders in one room, talking about radio. It was a jam-packed day filled with lots of good news for radio, and how advertisers and their agencies can use this to their benefit. I hope it’s the start of many more.”
Ryan Till, COO, Primedia Broadcasting

“I was fortunate to participate in the inaugural South African Radio Forum. I think it’s fantastic to see that sponsors are investing into the medium of radio. In South Africa it’s not only a mass medium with huge potential, but also one of the most exciting in terms of flexibility and multi-platform marketing communication. The conference was very well organised with great speakers, internationally and local.”
Richard Procter, Joint Director, Vizeum
“Participating in the first SA Radio Forum is the confidence booster my students needed to make the transition from student to professional”
